Since a way of life of Thai people in countryside has a strong relation with a forest, the effective and sustainable way of managing forestry resource is supposed to utilize the way that links community to the forest as well.
A frame of thought of “the community forest” comes from the reason that invasion of forest, at the present, has increased and caused the forest area to be smaller in size. The community forest, therefore, is initiated to point out nearby communities to see that:
1. The extent of forest will be clear and widely accepted from people of communities around.
2. There will be persons in charge of caring and protecting forests, both government officials and forest conservation groups.
3. There will be sustainable restoration for ecosystem that also harmonizes with a way of life, occupation and local wisdom of communities. Moreover, it should reinforce participation of governmental sector, private sector and communities.
To celebrate the 80th birthday anniversary of his majesty the King, CPI in association with the Office of Natural Resource and Environment of Chumporn Province has carry out a reforestation and rehabilitation in the area of the Yai Phum mountain and the Lak Mountain so as to be the community forest later on. |

4. To inhibit forestry invasion and reinforce forestry rehabilitation in concrete manner.
5. To help build the habitat for wild animals.
